It is time for another project for The Cutting Cafe! This time we focused on hats and could use the Party Hat Template, the Top Hat Template, or the Assorted Crowns Template, which I used.
This past weekend we celebrated one branch of my family with a family reunion. We had a blast. There were 125 in attendance (and that number is only a portion of us). We had a meet and greet night with karaoke, games, and tournaments; a format banquet with a red carpet walk and photo shoot; and many other activities that everyone enjoyed.
During the banquet, we acknowledged all of our family members who have passed away, highlighting those that passed away since our last reunion two years ago. We had a table set in memory of them and my centerpiece was used for the table. I used the Assorted Crowns to hold the in memory of sentiment. There are two types of crowns, one more male and one more female. I used one of each to represent the kings and queens of our family that have gone on.
I also made smaller crowns and added them to the corners of the base mat that the centerpiece sat on, which also highlighted a scripture that my aunt always says about our family, which ties in to the use of the crowns…
I really enjoyed making this. It was a bit time consuming, but it was well worth it. Here are a few more shots of the process and the finished project…

oh my goodness………..girl this is awesome……………………
Thank you Regina!
Now that is absolutely impressive! An entire table to honor those that are gone but not forgotten and ALL the hard work you did to make that exquisite topiary. It’s beautiful and so sentimental. LOVE that we get to see it on the actual table too. You did an amazing job using the crown to fit into it all…. 🙂
Thank you so much Lisa!
Wow, such a touching project to honor those you hold dear in your heart that are gone. I LOVE this and your color choices are beautiful. So happy to be a part of this team.
