Elegant Quilted Flap Handbag for Stuff It Collab March

My Elegant Handbag

Hello Everyone!  I am back in my craft room trying to bring some type of normalcy back into my life.  This is my project for a year-long collaboration featuring bags, boxes, baskets, and purses that you can use for gift packaging, home decor, storage, or whatever you desire.

I used two die sets from Simply Made Crafts, the landscape gift bag die set and the big bow die set.

I used my favorite color combo, black and gold.  I used a black cardstock base and then used polkadot paper from an old Halloween paper pad from Michael’s the year they had all the black and gold things for Halloween.  I don’t do Halloween, but I sure bought the paper and the bling when it went on clearance! I sold the sheets I would not use in a destash.

It closes with Velcro.

I embossed the flap with the elusive studded leather embossing folder from Crafter’s Companion.  If you ever come across that one get it because it is hard to find.  A few were re-released last fall and I was able to get one!  I used a black Velcro dot to close it. I added textured flat back bling in the corners.  On the back on the handle, I used another type of flat back bling.

On the butterfly bow, I used Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Flakes in Onyx Gold.  I  also added a flower bling.  I really like the way it turned out.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to take a look at my video before you go!

Fashion Teapot Folder

                    Fashion Teapot Folder

This week at The Cutting Cafe we got to use any file we chose.  I used the Teapot Shaped Card file.  There are two different teapot designs in the file.  I chose to do something different and made a folder with a pocket instead of a card.  I used the card top and layers and added a hinge on the side.

Then I made a pocket for the inside that you can add a little gift, like tea bags, or a craft item like bling.

Happy Easter Shaker Card – Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe

Happy Easter Shaker Card

Happy Easter Shaker Card

Hello Again!  I make a cute shaker card for my design team project for The Cutting Cafe.  I used the Happy Easter Overlay Template and added acetate, foam and sequins/seed beads/tiny shapes to create the shaker.

The file comes with the card base and a background piece so making a shaker was very easy.  You can also just use the overlay on top of the backing sheet, making it with maybe glitter paper or patterned paper.  Either way would be cute also.

Make sure you stop by The Cutting Cafe Blog.  We post design team projects on the 7th and 21st of each month.  Leave a comment and you just might win three free files of your choice in a random drawing to be held on the following design team posting.

Popcorn Box Vase

Hello everyone!  This week for the Cutting Cafe Design Team projects, we worked with the Popcorn Box file and it is filled with multiple options like two sizes and styles of box, scalloped edging, printed toppers, and many different sentiments.

I used confetti printed paper and a cut apart from the Confetti stack from DCWV. I added the scalloped top option and bling at top and around the middle.

Mini 3D Shadow Box Card

It has been a while since I posted but I am slowly but surely coming back!  We moved and I haven’t fully unpacked my craft room yet.  But I am digging out things to do cards and projects for.

This card is a design team project for The Cutting Cafe.  It is the 3D Shadow Box Card Template and has many options, different shaped openings, layers, and sentiments.  I chose to alter the size and make it 3 x 3 inches so I can use it as part of a swap that my friend Scrapdaworld is hosting.

Here is the inside…

I added a glitter heart in the window but you can add pictures, sentiments, etc.  Also, if you keep the embellishments relatively flat, you can fold the card flat and put it in an envelope.

Reflection: My Favorite 2018 Project for The Cutting Cafe

21 Dec

Hello Everyone!  Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Whatever You May Celebrate!  Since it is a busy time for everyone, for this posting of design team projects for The Cutting Cafe, we were asked to reshare our favorite project we did for 2018.

That is sort of a hard task for a creator of anything as everything you create tends to become your favorite of the moment.  I looked at my projects for this year and there were a few that I was going between as my favorite.  I was going to select two because I just could not decide.  But, without further ado, the project that I chose as my favorite this year is…

Typewriter Shaped Card

Typewriter Card

The typewriter card I created this summer for a staff person celebrating her 25th work anniversary was not my usual color palate but I loved the softness, but yet the sparkle of this card.  I made it with the Typewriter Shaped Card file.  To see my original post on this project, along with the video of it, click here.

Be sure to visit the Cutting Cafe Blog to see other team member’s favorites.   There may also be some new projects from the newer team members so you will have a mix of fantastic favorites along with some new favorites to view!

When you visit, leave a comment on the design team post to be eligible to win three files from The Cutting Cafe in a drawing on the next design team post, which are done on the 7th and 21st of each month!

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to sharing more with you in 2019!  Happy Holiday!!!

Snowflake Kisses Treat Box – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Snowflake Kisses Treat Box

Snowflake Kisses Treat Box

Hello!  It has been a while since I posted, or even crafted.  We recently moved and I did not have time for anything but packing.  I have not begun to unpack my craft room yet, but I dug some things out to do this project.

For this posting of the Design Team of The Cutting Cafe, we could choose any file to work with as long as our project was about Christmas.  I used the Snowflakes Kisses set which has two boxes, the treat box, which I used and a square box.

The paper I used has holographic foiled snowflakes on it.  I had some holographic bling so I added those to the centers of the big snowflakes on each side.

The bling center is holographic to go with the holographic foiling on the paper.

Steampunk Tote Bag Purse and Mini Wallett

Steampunk Timeless Tote and Wallet

My Steampunk version of the Our Daily Bread Designs Timeless Tote and Wallet Dies

I am in the Steampunk Fantasy Collaboration with Poetspice on YouTube, which runs from July 25 through August 29, 2018.  I am usually a clean and simple crafter but like the steampunk genre and have a good stash of steampunk paper, stamps, and embossing folder and thought this would be a great way to use some of my stash.  I also have had the Timeless Tote and Petite Wallet die sets from Our Daily Bread Designs for a couple months and have not had a chance to play with it.  So, why not a steampunk version of the purse?  This is how it came out…
