Mini 3D Shadow Box Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Post

Mini 3D Shadow Box Card

Mini 3D Shadow Box Card

It has been a while since I posted but I am slowly but surely coming back!  We moved and I haven’t fully unpacked my craft room yet.  But I am digging out things to do cards and projects for.

This card is a design team project for The Cutting Cafe.  It is the 3D Shadow Box Card Template and has many options, different shaped openings, layers, and sentiments.  I chose to alter the size and make it 3 x 3 inches so I can use it as part of a swap that my friend Scrapdaworld is hosting.

Here is the inside…

I added a glitter heart in the window but you can add pictures, sentiments, etc.  Also, if you keep the embellishments relatively flat, you can fold the card flat and put it in an envelope.

Reflection: My Favorite 2018 Project for The Cutting Cafe

21 Dec

Hello Everyone!  Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Whatever You May Celebrate!  Since it is a busy time for everyone, for this posting of design team projects for The Cutting Cafe, we were asked to reshare our favorite project we did for 2018.

That is sort of a hard task for a creator of anything as everything you create tends to become your favorite of the moment.  I looked at my projects for this year and there were a few that I was going between as my favorite.  I was going to select two because I just could not decide.  But, without further ado, the project that I chose as my favorite this year is…

Typewriter Shaped Card

Typewriter Card

The typewriter card I created this summer for a staff person celebrating her 25th work anniversary was not my usual color palate but I loved the softness, but yet the sparkle of this card.  I made it with the Typewriter Shaped Card file.  To see my original post on this project, along with the video of it, click here.

Be sure to visit the Cutting Cafe Blog to see other team member’s favorites.   There may also be some new projects from the newer team members so you will have a mix of fantastic favorites along with some new favorites to view!

This week at The Cutting Cafe, we could choose any file we wanted. I needed a couple cards so I chose the Everyday Shapes Window Card Tops.  The file has several cut out shapes that you can add as toppers to your cards.  I used the flower version…

Pumpkin Pillow Boxes

It has been a while.  Hello!  Today for my The Cutting Cafe design team project, I have made some cute pillow boxes with pumpkin cutouts.  I used the Pumpkin version of the Halloween Pillow Boxes.

I added an optional layer around the pumpkin and backed the opening with acetate.  I added a resin leaf at the bottom for an accent.

Lip Balm Favor/Gift Box – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

7 May
Lip Balm Box

Lip Balm Favor/Gift Box

Hello All!  This week for our design team project for The Cutting Cafe, we used the new Lip Balm Chapstick Holder Set.  The file comes with a few variations – a box, and a single holder that you make a cover out of clear acetate or paper which you can give as is or add to a card or tag.

I think this one is so cute.  I made the box which holds three lip balms.  You can decorate for men, women, boys, and girls and they make great favors for showers, parties, friendship exchanges, teachers gifts, co-workers, grab bags, etc.

I added a shaker element to the window of my box but you can use acetate or velum instead.  I just added some bling stickers and a sentiment from the file on both the front and back of the box.

Bows and a Box

21 Apr

Hey everyone!  It is time for a The Cutting Cafe Project!  This time we could use whatever files we wanted to and I used four different ones.  The items I made are going into a gift bag that I made.  I used the Gift Box with Divider, the Loopy Loopy Bow, the Bow Tie with a Slit, and the Bow with Ribbon Set.

First up is the box.  The file comes with two box sizes and two tops.  I used the one with the window…

T-Shirt Shaped Note Pad

T-Shirt Shaped Note Pad

This time for my design team project for The Cutting Cafe, we had to pick a shaped card and make it into a notepad. I chose the T-Shirt Shaped Card.  I used my favorites, black and gold to make this fabulous note pad.

I added flat back pearls randomly on the front and added a fringe trim as well as some black and gold rhinestone trim.
