This week at The Cutting Cafe, we were given the FABULOUS new suitcase files to work with.   There are three files, SUITCASE TREAT BOX TEMPLATE – CUTTING FILESUITCASE MINI BOOK TEMPLATE – CUTTING FILESUITCASE BOX TEMPLATE – CUTTING FILE, and a new POSTCARD PRINTABLE SET.     I just love them all and can’t wait to use the other ones.

I used the treat box version and used Anna Griffin gold foil and cream paper.  I decided to add an image and the note pad after I had finished the box as I wanted to do something other than just a plain box.  There is still room for tic tacs, or a couple more note pads in the box.  I just love the way it turned out.  I do need more practicing with my coloring, but I did this in just a few minutes as I was hurrying to get it complete for the Inspiration Wednesday post on The Cutting Cafe Blog.

I hope you like it and that you will visit the blog to see all the other wonderful design team projects!  Plus, if you leave a comment, you will be eligible to win three free files in next week’s drawing.  A winner is picked every week!  Plus, don’t be afraid to get any of the wonderful files.  All come in multiple versions including PDF and SVG.  This means that even if you don’t have an electronic cutting machine, you can still make the projects by cutting them by hand as I have been doing.

Thanks for stopping by.  Here are more photos and my video!

Tall Present Card and Button and String Envelope

I love Wednesdays as I get to see all my fellow design team member’s projects for the week at The Cutting Cafe!  Everyone is so talented and I get wonderful inspiration from everyone!  Make sure you visit the blog every Wednesday to get a dose of inspiration and a chance to win three free files!  Just make a comment to be eligible for the drawing!

This week we used a wonderful new line of ‘tall’ cards Regina created, along with the new button and string envelope.  I used the Tall Present Shaped Card Template Cutting File.  There are three other ‘tall’ cards available including a flower, a cake, and an ice cream cone!

I really like the way my project turned out.  I gave it to a co-worker for her birthday this week and she loved it.  I used Recollections chevron patterned paper along with pink and purple solid cardstock and a few Recollections epoxy stickers from my stash and it came out wonderfully!  The file comes with ribbons and bows and sentiments, but I used glitter ribbon and my own stamp for this project.  I have also found a use for all the eyelets I got with my Crop-a-dile I got several years ago!

Polaroid Fun Picture Hanger

I had so much fun with this week’s project for The Cutting Cafe!  We had our choice of two files, the Camera Photo Shaped Holder Template Cutting File and the Polaroid and Camera Fun Template – Printable Set, which is the one I used.

In honor of my god daughter being born last week, my project features her in all her cuteness.  She is such a wonderful and beautiful baby and I am so honored to be her god mother!

I used the photo frames from this versatile set to make a photo hanger for my office to show off  baby girl!

Embellishment Swap with Scrapdaworld on YouTube

26 Mar

I participated in another swap hosted by Scrapdaworld on YouTube.  This time it was an embellishment swap with altered bottle caps and clothes pins!  For the bottle caps, we had to make at least one with dangles and it had to also be finished on the back side.  At least one of the clothes pins needed to have a charm/bling on it.

Birthday Fun and Dress Form Cards – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Projects

Dress Form with Wings Card

Dress Form with Wings Card

It is Inspiration Wednesday at The Cutting Cafe and I have not one, but two projects for you this week.  We were given a choice of three files, the Fun with Dress Forms Template Cutting File & Printable Set, the Birthday Fun Printable Stamp Set, and the Apple Box Set Template Cutting File.

I used one of the wonderful dress form images and a sentiment included in the dress form set to make a goodbye card for a co-worker who is leaving.  She is not really flashy so I did not add as much bling as I would like to have added.  The sentiment says…you really are sew special, and she is.

I will add a personal note to the inside of the card.  I am sorry to see her go!  She was always a positive part of our team!

Next I did a birthday card for another co-worker using the Birthday Fun set.  I added silver pearls to the cake and used glitter paper to make it sparkle.  She loved the sentiment inside and let me know that she was 21 again for the third time!

Easter Bunny Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Easter Bunny Card

Easter Bunny Card

It is Inspiration Wednesday at The Cutting Cafe.  I have been sick for the past couple of days but I wanted to still do this week’s project as I so enjoy doing them and sharing with you.  I used the Easter Bunny Shaped Card 2 Template Cutting File.  Instead of using the shaped card, I just used the top.  I used a Happy Easter word paper in the background and it is a bit busy.  So I put a blue shadow around the bunny in hopes of making it stand out more.  It did not work as well as I had hoped.  I used a bunny print paper that also says Happy Easter in the shape of the left bunny.  I am not sure the two papers work well together but I went with it anyway.

I used Stickles to try to add the pink as you often see on the inside of bunny ears and I stickled the tail also.  I used a flower for the eye and a pearl for the nose.  The inside is very simple:

St. Patrick’s Day Card and Balsa Box Gift Card Holder – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

St. Patrick's Day Card and Balsa Box

St. Patrick’s Day Card and Balsa Box

This week for The Cutting Cafe design team project, we were able to choose from any St. Patrick’s Day files.  I chose to use the St. Patrick’s Day Think Green Printable Stamp Set and the Lucky Me Printable Stamp Set to make this fun card and covered balsa box.  I used Spellbinders dies to cut circles, squares, and the fancy tags.  I used recollections and 3 Birds paper.  This set is for my husband’s friend Shawn as she really loves St. Patrick’s Day.

The green circle sentiment and shamrock are from the Think Green set.  I thought up the sentiment on the fancy tag and thought it was a cute take on the phrase ‘you rock.’

The balsa wood box is from Michael’s dollar bin.  I just painted the inside and sides, and covered it with paper and edged with flat back pearls.  We added a gift card to the inside of the box also.
