Anniversary Word Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Anniversary Card

Anniversary Card

It’s project time at The Cutting Cafe and this week we could choose any file we wanted to work with.  There are so many available, but before we move into Christmas projects, I decided to make an anniversary card for my aunt and uncle who are celebrating 34 years of marriage!

The Anniversary Shaped Word Card Template is a breeze to make.  I cut out a base in kraft cardstock, a topper in black and tan, and the word in tan with a gold metallic pattern.  I added sheer black ribbon, some flowers, and  a red glitter accent heart for love.  I also added dots on some of the letters with a Viva Decor pearl pen.  The sentiments from both outside and inside come with the file along with several others.

103rd Birthday and Other Step Card Versions – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

12 Nov

This week at The Cutting Cafe we got to use a very versatile file…The Step Card Template File.  This file contains five different versions of the step card.  The hard part was to choose which one to use.  I couldn’t choose so I kept making them.  I have three of the versions here for you.

First up, is my grandmother’s 103rd birthday card.  Yep, that’s right…she just turned 103!  Praise God and Praise God for her long life!  Here is her side step card…

This week we used the new Pizza Box Template file for our projects for The Cutting Cafe and it is so cute!  It can be cut out plain or with a window and it comes with multiple inserts to divide the box.  The file makes a great small gift box or you can do something different like I did…

I added a happy birthday pop up to the inside and there you have it…a birthday card.  I have been into doing non-traditional cards lately so this one fits right in!

This week at The Cutting Cafe we are focusing on gratitude! We could use the Grateful Word Shaped Card or the With Gratitude Printable Stamp Set which is what I used.  For this card for my mother-in-law, I layered patterned papers from Teresa Collins and used the treasure sentiment from the stamp set.  I layered and Stickled flowers also.  I like the way it turned out.  Here are more views…

Happy Fall Card

This week we focused on Fall at The Cutting Cafe!  I loved Fall so I had a great time with this card.  We had a choice of three files to work with:

Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set (I got the tree from this file)
Acorn Shaped Card (I used the circle sentiment from this file)
Fall Word Shaped Card

I also used the Garden Stand Up Set  for the grass.

I love the bling leaves and how they added a colorful element to the card.  I used patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye and Fancy Pants.    If you want more info on how I made the card, here is the video…

Purse Shaped Treat Box and Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Purse Shaped Treat Box and Card

Purse Shaped Treat Box and Card

Girly girl projects continue at The Cutting Cafe with purse project week!  YES!  I love purses, just like I love shoes!  And we had two files to work with that offer tons of options.  I used both.  The “C” background that I used to make the paper with comes in the Assorted Purse Boxes file that has about five or six purses and accessories.  The rest of my project comes in the Purse Shaped Card and Treat Box file.

There are several layers in this file.  I used the outline/shadow in black, the top in the “C” paper I made, the upper top and handle in a red croc print paper, and then I used the card base and the box base.  I added a tag cut from a sizzix die and layered a sentiment from the file on it.  I attached it with Tim Holtz ball chain to mimic a real Coach bag.  The sentiment in the card also comes in the file.

I love them!  I can’t wait to make more.  Here are more views…

High Heel Shoe Birthday Card The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

High Heel Shoe Birthday Card

High Heel Shoe Birthday Card

This week’s file from The Cutting Cafe was definitely up my alley!  I love shoes and purses (hint hint) and this High Heel Shoe Shaped Card is the bomb, the business (ode to Shanta), and just plain fantastic!  There are many layers and sentiments to help you make this your own.  I could make 50 of them and they would all end up looking very different depending on the layers I use and the papers.  Unfortunately, the picture does not really do it justice.  The card is just awesome and the person I gave it to most definitely thought so!

I used a black shimmer cardstock with lime green and silver polka dot glitter paper, and a light green for the base and insole.  I used some sunburst punches on the heel to give it a peek-a-boo effect and show some of the glitter paper.  I used a glitter flower and a ribbon slider and mint green half back pearl to finish the bows.  I absolutely love this card and will be making more of them very soon!  Here are a few more pics…

It is all about girls this week at The Cutting Cafe!  We used the All About Girls Printable Stamp Set this week and it is a lot of fun!  There are tons of great sentiments and there are also images of clothes and girly things!  I made this card for an 8-year-old who loves bling and glitter.  So there is a lot of it on this card!  I like the way it turned out though.  Here are a few more photos…

It is Inspiration Wednesday at The Cutting Cafe!  That means it is design team project time.  This week the theme was strawberries.  We had three files we could work with.  I chose two of the three – the Strawberry Shaped Card Template Cutting File, and the Berry Sweet Printable Stamp Set.  The other file was the Strawberry Treat Box Template Cutting File.

Here are a couple close ups…
