DIY Checkbook – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

23 Aug

Fabric Check Book Cover View 2

Hello!  We are a couple days late with our design team post because Regina, the owner, got whisked away for her birthday!  Happy birthday again Regina!

For our design team project for The Cutting Cafe this time, we were to make the Checkbook Cover & Registry file using fabric.  I used a leftover piece of printed fabric I have had for years.

I hand cut the PDF of the file out of cardstock and fabric, but if you have an electronic cutter that cuts fabric, you can also use the version of the file to cut it that way.  I then just glued the fabric piece onto the cardstock and it was finished.  I just added a silhouette of a lady and the word blessed and a few rhinestones,

It turned out great!  The file also contains the checkbook registry so now you can make your own!  Be sure to check out the design team post on The Cutting Cafe Blog to see what other team members created.  Leave a comment and you will be entered into a drawing to win three free files.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Before you go, here is my video!

Popcorn Box Vase

Hello everyone!  This week for the Cutting Cafe Design Team projects, we worked with the Popcorn Box file and it is filled with multiple options like two sizes and styles of box, scalloped edging, printed toppers, and many different sentiments.

I used confetti printed paper and a cut apart from the Confetti stack from DCWV. I added the scalloped top option and bling at top and around the middle.

I also added a popcorn shape which is part of the file, and stamped just for you on it.

Pumpkin Pillow Boxes

It has been a while.  Hello!  Today for my The Cutting Cafe design team project, I have made some cute pillow boxes with pumpkin cutouts.  I used the Pumpkin version of the Halloween Pillow Boxes.

I added an optional layer around the pumpkin and backed the opening with acetate.  I added a resin leaf at the bottom for an accent.

Pumpkin Pillow Boxes - Embellishment

I used a resin leaf embellishment.

An I added a resin pumpkin on the top to act as a handle of sorts…

Lip Balm Favor/Gift Box – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Lip Balm Box

Lip Balm Favor/Gift Box

Hello All!  This week for our design team project for The Cutting Cafe, we used the new Lip Balm Chapstick Holder Set.  The file comes with a few variations – a box, and a single holder that you make a cover out of clear acetate or paper which you can give as is or add to a card or tag.

I think this one is so cute.  I made the box which holds three lip balms.  You can decorate for men, women, boys, and girls and they make great favors for showers, parties, friendship exchanges, teachers gifts, co-workers, grab bags, etc.

I added a shaker element to the window of my box but you can use acetate or velum instead.  I just added some bling stickers and a sentiment from the file on both the front and back of the box.

Christmas Tree Goodie Bag Holders

This week for The Cutting Cafe, the design team got to use any Christmas file we wanted to.  I have been in craft fair mode so I chose this cute Christmas Tree Goodie Bag Holder.  It can be used to hold candy, money, or crafty items like I have used.  It makes a great craft fair item, teacher or coworker gift, or a stocking stuffer.

My First Craft Fair

20 Nov

This past Saturday I did my first craft fair.  It went fairly well.  I wish there had been more traffic, and my tablecloth is wrinkled, but for the first time, I am ok with it.
