Christmas Treat Bag Toppers and Hershey Kiss Bottoms

Merry Christmas just a bit early!  If you are looking for a last minute cute little gift, these Treat Bag Toppers from The Cutting Cafe will fit the bill!  This file is packed with variations galore!  It has two size bags, with or without a window, and 17 different topper options!  I am showing you three but I am making 30 for staff and co-worker gifts!

Here is the tree version…

There are overlays in the file, which the tree is cut from a different color.  I chose only to put one on the front.

Here is the back.

One could be added to the back if you wanted to which would cover up the part that folds down in the back.

I also used the Christmas Hershey Kiss Bottoms Printable Stamp set on the kisses I filled the bag with.

Lastly I made two gift card holders using the Gift Card Holder Set.

Christmas Ornament Treat Cup – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Ornament Treat Cup

Ornament Treat Cup

This week’s project for The Cutting Cafe is made from the Christmas Treat Cup Cards file, but this is a bonus ornament that is not a card! It is so cute and I can see many thing other than an ornament.  If you add some hands and numbers around the rim, it could be a clock!

It has a nice depth to it so you can get a good number of treats in it.  You can use resin pieces like I did or you can add candy or nuts also.

The back has a slide up tab to allow the goodies to come out.

This is very easy to make and the card versions are also easy to do.  You can make these without an electronic cutting machine as they come in PDF versions also!

For my project, I made the Sleigh Treat Box.   We could choose any Christmas file we wanted to and I had not done this one and thought it would make a good gift for a co-worker during the holidays.  You can fill it with candy or a gift card.  The file comes with may layers to give you variety.  It also comes with sentiment tags (I made my own from a stamp as my printer was not cooperating) and several sizes of a flower. Here are a few other views of it…

Hello!  I just wanted to pop in and share some Christmas Cards I made for my friend’s mom.  I used some Anna Griffin  and Spellbinders products to make them and they turned out great!

Present Shaped Shaker Cards – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Christmas Present Shaker Card

Christmas Present Shaker Card

It is time for another design team post for The Cutting Cafe.  This time we are all about Christmas and shaker cards.  We could choose from either the Christmas Word Shakers or the Christmas Shape Shaker Cards which I used.  This file comes with eight different shapes including a bell, a snowman, a mitten, and the present that I used.

Christmas Present Shaker Card Front View

I used glitter paper and added foam tape to create the shaker area.  There is a tutorial on the website on how to make the shakers as well as written directions in the file.  They are really easy to make.  I used hexagon shaped glitter from Martha Stewart for my shaker element.

Even though this is a Christmas file, it can still be used for other things.  For example, I used the same file to create a birthday card…

I changed the size of the card and made the bow smaller so the background paper would show.

I used star shaped glitter from Martha Stewart for this one as well as one of the Birthday Hershey Kiss Bottom Printable Stamps for the sentiment in the center of the bow…

Christmas/Winter Shaped Gift Tag Swap

2 Nov
Fireplace Shaped Gift Tag

Fireplace Shaped Gift Tag

My friend Tmika, Scrapdaworld on YouTube, held another awesome swap and I loved being a part of it!  She hosted a shaped gift tag swap a couple of months ago (check out my tag post) and this was a variation on it.  I decided to do a fireplace for my tag and I actually love it.  At first I struggled with it as I had used wood grain paper for the mantle and bottom.  It was just too brown and had no pop whatsoever.  So I dug into my Christmas paper stash and found this paper.  The pattern scale was great as I needed a 12 x 12 sheet of paper to cut out all I needed and most of the patterns were too large.

Back of Tag

Back of Tag

The tags had to be shaped and had to have at least two embellishments, a to/from on it, and had to have some way to hang it.  I used a lot of metallic, glitter, and foil elements.

Mantel detail

Mantel detail

I love the mantel as I draped tinsel ribbon wrapped with miniature lights and hung glitter stockings.  It is so cute, just like a real Christmas Mantel.  I started to put candles and statues on top if it but I thought they would not be as durable since they would just be little pieces with no backing for stability.

I used a resin log for the firelog

I used a resin log for the firelog

I found resin logs from Michael’s fall Recollections embellishment line.  They were longer, I just sawed them down to size.  I also used some of my glitter to actually put glitter on the fire.  The bricks are a texture paste.  I was going to use brick printed paper and when I told Tmika what I was doing she suggested using a texture paste.  I am glad she mentioned that as I had not thought of it and really like it on my tag.

The Silhouette Online Store just added a fireplace box gift card holder and I thought it would be perfect packaging.  I resized it and used Tim Holtz’s frosted film over a layer of clear film that actually was the wrapper from the Silhouette mat I had just opened.  There was a little bubbling of the film but not a lot.

All six of my tags.

There are five other members of my group and I also made one for Tmika.  Three have red garland and three have green garland.

I had fun with this swap after I got through the paper issue.  I really loved the way they turned out and I hope that my group members will also.  Thanks for stopping by.  Before you go, take a look at my YouTube video…

December Card Making Event

4 Jan

Last month I did a post about a card demo I was doing for my husband’s organization’s holiday party.  Between leaving for vacation a couple of days after the event and Christmas, I never got a chance to post pictures from the event.  All attendees were asked to bring a toy donation for admission which would be given to a local charity.

I held a card making session during the event.  Attendees could make a card and the charity that received the toys would give the cards out with the toys.

Once finished with their card, attendees were asked to hang their cards on display board with mini clothes pins.  We then held a contest to pick three winners and awarded them restaurant gift cards.  In the beginning it was slow going but then people warmed up to the idea of making a card and then it got competitive!  Once they got started they really got into it.  I had a great time doing it.  And, there were some awesome cards made and I was mentally scraplifting a lot of ideas!

Here are some photos…

Holiday Party Cards, Door Prize Tags, and Card Making Event With Cutting Cafe Files

Overview of Holiday Party Projects

Overview of Holiday Party Projects

I have been working hard and the photo above shows an overview of all the projects I worked on yesterday!  My husband’s organization is holding a holiday party and he came up with a cute idea for the door prize drawing.  He wanted to hang circles with people’s names on them on a tree.  I, of course, found an ornament file from the Silhouette Online store and made 160 of them for him!

Next he needed some cards for his office staff and board chair…

The cards were made with the Step Card TemplatesChristmas Ornament Fun, and Christmas Tree Trio Shaped Card files from The Cutting Cafe.

Then, I am doing a card-making session for people to make cards which will be given to a charity to hand out.  I decided to pre-cut shapes to use to make things a lot easier!  I used two of the files I just listed along with the Christmas Treat Box file to cut out shapes that will be used on card bases I bought from Michaels.

I made the rectangle and oval shapes myself in the Silhouette software.  I cut 135 rectangles and 135 of the other three shapes to be used with them.  Plus from the scraps I cut rectangles, strips, and banners people can use.  I also got stickers, stamps, ink, tape runners, and ribbon for them to use.  I will have to post pictures from the demo event.  Thanks for stopping by.  Here is my video…

Walking in the Winter Wonderland YouTube Hop

Christmas Noel Charger Plate

Christmas Noel Charger Plate

Today I am participating in the Walking in the Winter Wonderland You Tube hop, which is hosted by Tmika aka Scrapdaworld on YT!  For this project, I decided to something a little different so I altered a charger plate.  I used a wooden noel word and covered it in paper and added some glitter Snowtex on the word to give it a little dimension.

I covered the center with a  glitter paper and added a double row of silver pearls and a single row on the outside perimeter.  From there I just added flowers,  baubles, and glittered chipboard snowflakes.
