Update and Stamp Scrap Art Tour Mini Haul

8 Mar

Hello All! It has been a while since I have posted.  A few things happened. First, The Cutting Café ended its design team.  Most of the projects I posted were for the team.  But shortly after that, my life took a very unexpected turn. My husband got sick and passed away. Everything happened quickly and I am starting to come out of the fog of it all.

Although I miss him terribly, I have to get some normality back into my life, no matter how hard that will be.  Crafting is a big part of that.  I will post my craft and swap projects here and you just might start seeing some cake decorating posts later in the year as I want to get back into that also.

To get back into the swing of posting, I thought I would share that I went to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour (SSAT) Show in Rockford, IL.  It was a smaller show but I found some great things.  Thank you for stopping by.  Here is a video of my haul…

Owl Be Home for Christmas Card

Guess what?!  It is Christmas in July at The Cutting Cafe!  Both design team posts this month will feature Christmas.  This week we are taking any of the animal shaped cards and turning them into a Christmas theme.  I chose to work with the Owl Shaped Card Set.

Jumbo 65th Birthday Card and Gift Card Holder – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Projects

21 Oct
Jumbo 65th Card and Gift Card Holder

Jumbo 65th Birthday Card and Gift Card Holder

I am back with another design team project for The Cutting Cafe.  For this posting, we were able to use any file we wanted to.  I chose two to work with, the Birthday Word Gift Card Holder and the Birthday Number Candle Set.

First, one of my staff is turning 65.  I needed a card large enough for everyone in my department to sign, so I made a scalloped card base that is 9″x7″.  I added an embossed panel and holographic gold dot stickers, but wanted the focal point to be the Birthday Number Candles!

I kept the inside plain since many people will be signing it…

Next, I will be giving her a gift card so I wanted something separate for that.  I kept the theme the same with the tone on tone white shimmer paper with gold.  I used gold Dazzle stickers to add accents.

On the inside, I added miniature Birthday Number Candles

My Craft Space – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Post

21 Apr

We are doing something a bit different for our Design Team post for The Cutting Cafe.  We are sharing a look at our crafting spaces today.  Although my room is a total hot mess right now, I found a picture of it cleaned up.  Here is what I see when I walk in.

Craft Room

A little over a year and a half ago, I cleaned up and rearranged my room.  It is still set up that way and I did a craft room reveal on YouTube.  Since my room is too much of a mess to show right now, I will share that video, which also features two of my DT members and very good friends who were visiting for a crafty weekend.

But before I share the video, just a couple of things.  Make sure you head over to The Cutting Cafe Blog to see the craft rooms of some of our DT members (and I am sure you will see Regina’s fabulous room – she is the owner of The Cutting Cafe and her room was featured in HGTV magazines and a couple of others).  We do post on the 7th and 21st of each month.  When you visit, leave a comment and you will be entered into a drawing to win three files of your choice.

Thanks for stopping by!  Now, here’s that video…

Man Card Mondays #9 and The CC DT Project Bat and Ball Cards

Bat and Ball Cards

This week I combined Man Card Mondays and my The Cutting Cafe design team project.  Baseball season just started so I decided to use that theme as this was a free week and we could choose any file we wanted to.

I chose to use the Bat and Ball Shaped Card Set  and made two different cards.

Paper What?! Bead Earrings – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Paper Bead Earrings and Earring Card

Paper Bead Earrings and Jewelry Card Holder

Yep, these earrings are made of paper!  For The Cutting Cafe design team, we got to work with the Paper Bead Set file and I must say these were fun and easy.  The file comes with 9 different bead shaped and sizes and a small box .  I decided to make earrings and will probably make a necklace or bracelet with the other beads (because they were too fun to make to just stop at two).

I have displayed them on a jewelry card made from the Jewelry Holder Set.  It has several different styles of earring holders, and a couple boxes.
