Pumpkin Trio Sympathy Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Pumpkin Trio Sympathy Card

Pumpkin Trio Sympathy Card

For our project for The Cutting Cafe, the theme was pumpkins.  We are entering into the fall season and what better way to showcase it than with pumpkins.  They are standards for decorating and pumpkin flavored cake, coffee, cookies, syrup, and everything else is available everywhere you go!

I used the Pumpkin Trio Card and decided to go non-traditional and make gold and white pumpkins for a sympathy card.  One of my staff lost her brother very suddenly and she is entering a new season in her life without him.  So, I thought the pumpkins would be great to symbolize the season change.  I think it came out beautifully.  She loved it.

Coffee Cup Holder – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Coffee Cup Holder

For our Cutting Cafe Design Team Project for this posting, we could use one of three files, the Stationary Caddy, the K-Cup Holder, or the Coffee Cup Holder, which I used.  I needed a little gift to thank our department’s graphic designer at work as he has worked many overtime hours just to get all of our requests done.  He likes coffee and treats so this was the perfect project to make for him.

Coffee Cup Holder

The file is a single box, a handle, strips of trimming, and a cup wrap (which I did not use).  I made two of the boxes and glued them together with the handle in between the two.

I used patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye Indie Chic collection, and solid Bazzill cardstock.  I added gold corner stickers, a couple sentiment stickers from an old set I had, and then cut out a sentiment tag that came with the file.  I cut it out and attached it to some of the solid cardstock.  Then I cut around it to give it a mat.  I then added a screw brad and some twine.

Please make sure you visit The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of the month.  Design team projects are posted on those dates.  Be sure to leave a comment as a random name is pulled from the previous post’s comments.  That person wins three free files of their choice.

Shaped Gift Tag Swap with The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project Packaging

High Heel Shaped Tag with The Cutting Cafe Packaging

High Heel Shaped Tag with The Cutting Cafe Packaging

This week for The Cutting Cafe, our theme was packaging. This was perfect timing as I was also in a swap hosted by Scrapdaworld (details coming further in the post). I used the Homemade Just for You Set for the label wrap, which actually is a cut file that is included. Then I used two sentiments from the Test Tube Candy Holder Set.

The other packaging files we had to choose from were:

Make sure to visit The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th to see all the other design team projects focused on packaging! Leave a comment and you may win three free files in the drawing on the 21st of the month post!

Now, for the swap, we had to make shaped tags, use three embellishments, have to and from on it, and only use general sentiments.  There were six in my group so we had to make five, but I made six so Tmika (Scrapdaworld) would have one. Below are a few more pictures and my video.  Make sure you check out Scrapdaworld’s You Tube channel.  She will be putting up videos of all the swaps.

Assorted Crowns Topiary Centerpiece

Assorted Crowns Topiary Centerpiece

Assorted Crowns Topiary Centerpiece

It is time for another project for The Cutting Cafe!  This time we focused on hats and could use the Party Hat Template, the Top Hat Template, or the Assorted Crowns Template, which I used.

This past weekend we celebrated one branch of my family with a family reunion.  We had a blast.  There were 125 in attendance (and that number is only a portion of us).  We had a meet and greet night with karaoke, games, and tournaments; a format banquet with a red carpet walk and photo shoot; and many other activities that everyone enjoyed.

During the banquet, we acknowledged all of our family members who have passed away, highlighting those that passed away since our last reunion two years ago.  We had a table set in memory of them and my centerpiece was used for the table.  I used the Assorted Crowns to hold the in memory of sentiment.  There are two types of crowns, one more male and one more female.  I used one of each to represent the kings and queens of our family that have gone on.

I also made smaller crowns and added them to the corners of the base mat that the centerpiece sat on, which also highlighted a scripture that my aunt always says about our family, which ties in to the use of the crowns…

I really enjoyed making this.  It was a bit time consuming, but it was well worth it.  Here are a few more shots of the process and the finished project…

All About You Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

All About You Card

All About You Card

It is time for another project for The Cutting Cafe!  Regina created the A-Z Letter Set which consists of two cards for each of the alphabet, one folded like I used and one shaped like the letter.  This set is versatile because you can use the overlay letters by themselves for other projects.  You can also purchase the letters individually if you’d like.

All About You Card Angle View

I used the letter A and a sentiment that says all about you.  The person who this is for also has a name that starts with the letter A so it works out perfectly.  I used black cardstock as the base.  Added and overlay A out of striped sparkle paper, flowers that have been sprayed and stickled, a butterfly, and a bling flourish.  I also used some rick rack and a button and resin rose to accent the sentiment.  Here is a close up…

Lastly, I added an orange shimmer paper to the inside where I will attach a photo and a note…

Wine Bottle Shaped Thank You Card and Gift Tags – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Wine Bottle Thank You Card and Gift Tags

Wine Bottle Thank You Card and Gift Tags

My husband’s organization was having an end of year celebration for their current Board of Directors.  The event had a wine tasting and the board gifts were insulated wine bags.  So he asked if I could make a thank you card for the outgoing Board Chair shaped like a wine bottle, and tags to put on each gift.  I was able to do what he asked with the help of  The Cutting Cafe!  This week for my design team post, I used the Wine bottle Shaped Card.

I enlarged it for the card and put two of them together to make it a tri-fold card to allow enough room for all the board members to sign it.

Wine Bottle Thank You Card Opened

On the label, I used the organization logo.  I also used a sentiment from the card on the neck of the bottle and cork paper for the cork.

I used the same file to make small tags that he used to hang from the gifts given to them.

My hubby wanted to give the outgoing chair something other than just a plain card.  He asked if I could make a 3D wine bottle and he could add a note on the back label.  I found this file and made this bottle which is actually a box, but I glued it shut and put glitter tape over the opening which is where the label starts.  This file was not from The Cutting Cafe but I think it went well with my Cutting Cafe projects.

Mother’s Day Cards 2014 – Pop Up Box Cards

Mother's Day Box Cards

Mother’s Day Box Cards

I have fallen in love with the pop up box cards now that I made one so I decided to make them for my Mother’s Day Cards.  I used a Lori Whitlock file ( the green one) and a SVG Cuts file (the pink one) as my bases.  Then I used lots of pop dots, glitter flat back pearls, and Stickles.  I also used a 3D sticker for the card with the birds and used embossing powder to color the two red birds which were brown chipboard pieces.

The first one is for my mom…

Cross Shaped Bible Verse Card

This week at The Cutting Cafe we focused on Easter.  I used the Bible Easter Verses Printable Stamp Set and I paired it with the Cross Shaped Card Set.  I used a lavender card stock and a shade lighter paper for the inside.  I topped the cross with white glitter paper and added a red glitter heart.

I printed the verse on white paper and put it on top of a rectangle Spellbinder cutout that I popped up on foam dots.

There were several other files we could use this week also including the Easter Elisha Jean and Friends Printable Stamp Set, The Easter Bunny Shaped Card 2, and the Egg Goodie Box.
