Lucky to Know You Card and Spool Box

It is design team post time at The Cutting Cafe! In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, our projects had to be green but we could choose from any of the files we wanted to use. Make sure you stop by the blog as there will be a lot of variety! Plus leave a comment while you are there. Each post, Regina, the owner, randomly pulls a name from the comments from the previous post. That person gets three files of their choice! Now that is not bad at all for leaving a comment!

I picked two files this time. I needed a gift so I used the Ribbon Spool Set which has a spool box in the set among other things. I also picked a new file, Lucky to Know You Overlay Set which is a card and has the overlay with it.

I added teardrop pearl strands, single flat back pearls, flowers, and a die cut word. I also added pearl bling on a roll to the top of the sides of the box.

I also lined the inside of the box.

I also made a skinny spools to wrap lace around. I am putting them and other goodies in the box.

Dress Form Screen Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Dress Form Screen Card

It is time for another design team project for The Cutting Cafe! This time we could choose from the Dress Shaped Card, Dress Shaped Card 2, or Fun with Dress Forms which I used. I love this file as I am a sewer and I love all things dress forms! I decided to make a screen card. These type screen are used as room dividers and you often find them in dressing rooms in fancy stores. I thought a replica of a screen with dress forms was a cute idea.

I decided to use velum for the screen and in the two middle panels, I encased the dress from between two pieces of velum. On the end panels I put the dress forms on the sides. Here is a view looking down at it…

I used pearl bling on the front of the card along with some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Alicia’s Glitz and More. The pearl spray is a piece I have had in my stash my over 20 years. I am trying to use what I have!

The other panels have a gold dazzle sticker at the top and a white one at the bottom for just a touch of decoration.

Valentine’s Day Cards, Treat Boxes, and YT Hop Challenge Projects

Cards and treat boxes

I hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. I just wanted to show the cards and treat boxes I made this weekend. Above are a treat box from the Silhouette Store, a Skinny Tube Box from a file from The Cutting Cafe, and three cards I made for my god children and my hubby. Here is another treat box I made and filled with chocolate for another young lady in my life…

Next, Betty who is scrappassion01 on YouTube hosted a hop called What’s Love Got to do With It. To win prizes in the grand prize drawings you had to create seven things such as altered hearts, stick pins, altered dominos, etc. Below are photos of what I created to enter the challenge drawing…

Sweet Kisses Tube Boxes and Hershey Kiss Window Cards – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Sweet Kisses Boxes, Hershey Kiss Window Cards, and Hershey Kiss Bottoms

It’s time for another design team project for The Cutting Cafe! We post our projects on The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of each month. Make sure you stop over to see all the projects. Now on to my projects. This time we were able to choose any file we wanted to use from the large collection of Valentine themed files. I actually chose four different files to work with. I made little treats and cards for staff. First I used the Hershey Kiss Window Card file along with the Lots of Kisses Printable Set for the sentiment. I made two different cards, one more pink based…

and one more red based…

The sentiments are designed to look like the paper strip that hangs out of the kisses. But I also used the Happy Valentines Day version of it on the inside under my stamped sentiment…

Next I made treat holders using the Sweet Kisses Tube Box file…

Those hearts on the inside of my card were the cutouts from the box and the card and I used another sentiment on the front of the boxes, and I randomly added little dots of Stickles on the front of the boxes for a bit of added bling…

Birthdays and Anniversaries Calendar Keeper Book – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

It is time for a new design team post for The Cutting Cafe! This time we focused on two calendar sets, 2015 Day Calendar Printable Set and 2015 Calendar Printable Set which I used. I also used the Mini Colored Calendar Card Set.

I added bling swirls on the front and used a stretchy ribbon belly band to keep it closed. I printed my own title and used Spellbinders dies to cut and layer it. The animal print paper was a gift from my girl Tmika. I covered chipboard for the covers.

Then when it opens, it is accordion folded…

The calendar is on the top and the mini cards are below and allow you to put the name of the person by the number that corresponds to the date.

Tea Box Holder – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Happy New Year to you! I hope your holiday season was fabulous! I was a busy beaver and thus did not have a lot of time for crafting. But, it is a new year and I am back at it. Thanks for stopping by! Today I am sharing my first design team project of the year for The Cutting Cafe. This time we could choose any file we wanted to work with. Regina recently created a Tea Box Holder Set and the minute I saw it I knew I had to make it! I hate coffee and I like tea. So, I made this to sit on my desk at work…

I absolutely love the way it turned out. I wanted something with an elegant feel and I think the gold foiling accents and the shimmer paper does just the trick! The file comes with a lid that comes off so you can put your tea bags in the box. I added a diamond shape knob to the top of the lid. The knob does not come with this file however. It is from another file I own. I also added the gold die cut border to the edge of the lid for more drama. Here are views without the tea bag and a front on view…

The file comes in a skinny version, which I used, or a wider version. Both also have a four inch or six inch version to choose from. The teapot on the front comes in the file along with a couple other images. I just fussy cut it and pop it with foam squares onto two circle die cuts. The sentiment also comes with the file with along with a lot of other ones…

This was easy to put together and can be done easily without an electronic cutting machine as all of the files at The Cutting Cafe come in a PDF version for hand cutting which is nice. You can print out the pieces and take them with you to a crop or to work on during your lunch hour and not have to be tied to a machine!

Present Shaped Shaker Cards – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Christmas Present Shaker Card

It is time for another design team post for The Cutting Cafe. This time we are all about Christmas and shaker cards. We could choose from either the Christmas Word Shakers or the Christmas Shape Shaker Cards which I used. This file comes with eight different shapes including a bell, a snowman, a mitten, and the present that I used.

I used glitter paper and added foam tape to create the shaker area. There is a tutorial on the website on how to make the shakers as well as written directions in the file. They are really easy to make. I used hexagon shaped glitter from Martha Stewart for my shaker element.

Even though this is a Christmas file, it can still be used for other things. For example, I used the same file to create a birthday card…

I changed the size of the card and made the bow smaller so the background paper would show.

I used star shaped glitter from Martha Stewart for this one as well as one of the Birthday Hershey Kiss Bottom Printable Stamps for the sentiment in the center of the bow…

3D Party House – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

3D Party House

It is time for another design team post for The Cutting Cafe! This week we were given a choice of two files to work with, the House Shaped Card, and the 3D House Set which I used. I made this for my boss who has a milestone birthday coming up. I wanted to give him something he could keep in his office so this fit the bill.

This file is full of options! There are three different sized houses (I used the medium-sized one), two different roof sizes, the option to have the roof open so you can put something inside, scallops for the roof edge, a wreath, different window and door options, a base, trees, and a lot of sentiments! Whew! That’s a lot of options!

I went pretty basic with this one but with all the options, you can create so many different looking houses and you can combine other files from The Cutting Cafe to add things like grass, flowers, or a fence. Acorn Shaped Birthday Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Acorn Shaped Birthday Card

It is the 21st of the month and time for another Design Team post for The Cutting Cafe! This time we focused on fall and Halloween. I really do not celebrate Halloween so I went with the fall theme. There were a few files we could choose from…

I cut the card from brown cardstock and used Recollections and My Minds Eye papers. I added a happy birthday rub on and candy dots for accents. I also added acrylic leaf embellishments.

Pumpkin Trio Sympathy Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Pumpkin Trio Sympathy Card

For our project for The Cutting Cafe, the theme was pumpkins. We are entering into the fall season and what better way to showcase it than with pumpkins. They are standards for decorating and pumpkin flavored cake, coffee, cookies, syrup, and everything else is available everywhere you go!

I used the Pumpkin Trio Card and decided to go non-traditional and make gold and white pumpkins for a sympathy card. One of my staff lost her brother very suddenly and she is entering a new season in her life without him. So, I thought the pumpkins would be great to symbolize the season change. I think it came out beautifully. She loved it.
