Valentine Nugget Candy Box Holder – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

For our design team posting this time for The Cutting Cafe, we could choose any file we wanted to use.  I needed some little trinket holders for gifts so I used the Nugget Candy Box file.  The original purpose is to hold four Hershey nuggets.  But, I chose to use it for something else, thus showing the versatility of the files.

The file comes with three top options. The first is a with a heart cut out.  You can leave it open or use acetate to make a window.  I chose to line the inside with black cardstock and add a foam heart sticker.

The second is a rectangle cut out.  Again, I lined the inside of the top with black cardstock.

The third is a plain top, which I decorated with the heart cutouts from the heart top.

Mailbox Treat Box

Hello everyone!  This week at The Cutting Cafe, the design team is all about Valentine’s Day.  Since we all have men in our lives, I decided to make my project with the men in mind.

I used the Mailbox Template and Cutting File Set.  There are two mailbox versions.  I used the second one and used non-traditional colors to give it a more masculine feel, as well as some brads that look like screw heads.

I used the patterned paper on the sides also.

I used some of the printable sentiments that come with the set on the back…

Cards and treat boxes

I hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day.  I just wanted to show the cards and treat boxes I made this weekend.  Above are a treat box from the Silhouette Store, a Skinny Tube Box from a file from The Cutting Cafe, and three cards I made for my god children and my hubby.  Here is another treat box I made and filled with chocolate for another young lady in my life…

Next, Betty who is scrappassion01 on YouTube hosted a hop called What’s Love Got to do With It.  To win prizes in the grand prize drawings you had to create seven things such as altered hearts, stick pins, altered dominos, etc.  Below are photos of what I created to enter the challenge drawing…

Sweet Kisses Boxes, Hershey Kiss Window Cards, and Hershey Kiss Bottoms

It’s time for another design team project for The Cutting Cafe!  We post our projects on The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of each month.  Make sure you stop over to see all the projects.  If you leave a comment, you will be entered into a drawing held on the next post.  The winner gets three free files of their choice!  Plus we love reading the comments!

Now on to my projects.  This time we were able to choose any file we wanted to use from the large collection of Valentine themed files.  I actually chose four different files to work with.  I made little treats and cards for staff.  First I used the Hershey Kiss Window Card file along with the Lots of Kisses Printable Set for the sentiment.  I made two different cards, one more pink based…

and one more red based…

The sentiments are designed to look like the paper strip that hangs out of the kisses.  But I also used the Happy Valentines Day version of it on the inside under my stamped sentiment…

Next I made treat holders using the Sweet Kisses Tube Box file…

Those hearts on the inside of my card were the cutouts from the box and the card and I used another sentiment on the front of the boxes, and I randomly added little dots of Stickles on the front of the boxes for a bit of added bling…

Altered Target Dollar Bin Mailboxes for Valentine’s Day

10 Feb

These are two mailboxes from Target I just quickly decorated for my 5-year-old god brother and his 6-year-old cousin.  Nothing elaborate, just a quick cover in paper and stickers.  But they will amuse my little ones.  I will fill them with candy and a few trinkets.  Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Lace Shaped Card and Altered Valentine’s Day Frame – This Week’s Cutting Cafe Design Team Projects

23 Jan

It’s Inspiration Wednesday and that means a new design team project for The Cutting Cafe!  This week the four files we were to choose from were so fantabulous that I could not just pick one!  So  I made two things! The first is a card using the Heart Lace Shaped Card Template Cutting File and A Love Story Sentiment Printable Stamp Set for the inside sentiment.  The outside sentiment came with the card file.

This file is a cutting file but with all of the files at The Cutting Cafe, you get many options.  I used the PDF and just printed it onto red cardstock.  I did not cut out the inside circles (which would have created the lace effect).  I liked the way the bold outlines looked.  I just Stickled a few hearts, added mesh bling trim, a ribbon slider and flat back pearl, and the sentiment.  For the inside, I used the circle version of the sentiment I chose.  It came in various formats (another plus with many of The Cutting Cafe files).  I punched it with a Fiskars punch, and put it on a circle cut out with an EK Success punch.  The inside heart is just a smaller version of the card.

My altered frame used the Valentine Mini Sentiments Backgrounds Printable Stamp Set.  I used the Happy Valentine’s Day version in color.  The stamps also come in black and white versions.  The paper I covered the wood frame with was a bit mod 60’s but I liked it.  I added some pearls, roses, glittered butterflies, and hearts.  I think it is cute and I liked the way it turned out.  This was a bit different for me but I like it.

The other files we had to choose from were the Fun With Hearts Printable Stamp Set and the Valentine Window Card Tops Template Cutting File.  All of the files this week will give you many options for your Valentine’s Day projects!  Don’t forget to visit the Cutting Cafe’s Blog later today to view all of the great projects from the rest of the design team.  Thanks for stopping by!

Here is my YouTube video with more information on my projects and the products used.

Hershey Kiss Treat Box – My Design Team Project for The Cutting Cafe

16 Jan

It’s Inspiration Wednesday yet again (it does happen weekly you know) on The Cutting Cafe’s Blog!  Be sure to stop by to see all the fabulous designs.  This week’s theme was Valentine’s Day.  We had a few files to choose from and I chose the Hershey Kiss Treat Box file.  This was very easy to make.

You don’t need to have a cutting machine as all the files at the Cafe come in PDF format as well as multiple cutting formats.  I printed the PDF on cardstock and patterned paper (for the lining) and hand cut the pieces.  Once cut, all I had to do was glue it together and decorate.  Simple and easy!

I love the white chocolate kisses and for Christmas they have peppermint chips in them and come in a red striped foil.  For Valentine’s Day I think the swirl is raspberry.  So, in the vein of the white chocolate kisses, here is my project.  Thanks for stopping by!
