For this posting of the Design Team Projects for The Cutting Cafe, we focused on word shaped cards that pertain to Valentine’s Day. I chose to use the 14th Shaped Word Card, which can be versatile to be used not only for Valentine’s Day but for anniversaries, years, or a special date. I made two different ones. The first one features sentiments from the This Cake is All Heart, a printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe.

For our design team posting this time for The Cutting Cafe, we could choose any file we wanted to use. I needed some little trinket holders for gifts so I used the Nugget Candy Box file. The original purpose is to hold four Hershey nuggets. But, I chose to use it for something else, thus showing the versatility of the files.
The file comes with three top options. The first is a with a heart cut out. You can leave it open or use acetate to make a window. I chose to line the inside with black cardstock and add a foam heart sticker.
Heart Cut Out Top Nugget Box
The second is a rectangle cut out. Again, I lined the inside of the top with black cardstock.

The third is a plain top, which I decorated with the heart cutouts from the heart top.

This week at The Cutting Cafe, it was all about jars. There are many files to choose from but I chose the Jar Shaped Cards file and used the mason jar with window. I sized it down quite a bit to make them mini.
These work well for swap gifts and exchanges. Here is a sample of packaging for that purpose…

Hello everyone! This week at The Cutting Cafe, the design team is all about Valentine’s Day. Since we all have men in our lives, I decided to make my project with the men in mind.
I used the Mailbox Template and Cutting File Set. There are two mailbox versions. I used the second one and used non-traditional colors to give it a more masculine feel, as well as some brads that look like screw heads.
I used the patterned paper on the sides also.
I used some of the printable sentiments that come with the set on the back…

I hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. I just wanted to show the cards and treat boxes I made this weekend. Above are a treat box from the Silhouette Store, a Skinny Tube Box from a file from The Cutting Cafe, and three cards I made for my god children and my hubby. Here is another treat box I made and filled with chocolate for another young lady in my life…
Next, Betty who is scrappassion01 on YouTube hosted a hop called What’s Love Got to do With It. To win prizes in the grand prize drawings you had to create seven things such as altered hearts, stick pins, altered dominos, etc. Below are photos of what I created to enter the challenge drawing…

Now on to my projects. This time we were able to choose any file we wanted to use from the large collection of Valentine themed files. I actually chose four different files to work with. I made little treats and cards for staff. First I used the Hershey Kiss Window Card file along with the Lots of Kisses Printable Set for the sentiment. I made two different cards, one more pink based…
and one more red based…
Hershey Kisses Cutout Card
The sentiments are designed to look like the paper strip that hangs out of the kisses. But I also used the Happy Valentines Day version of it on the inside under my stamped sentiment…
Those hearts on the inside of my card were the cutouts from the box and the card and I used another sentiment on the front of the boxes, and I randomly added little dots of Stickles on the front of the boxes for a bit of added bling…
I thought I would take a few minutes to share the cards I made for Valentine’s Day. I tried to keep it simple by using cutting files to save some time. First up is the card I made for my wonderful hubby. I always try to make something a little non-traditional for him.

This was a cute file I found in the Silhouette Online Store. I just added a few stickers for embellishments and I was finished. Next, I made a card for my parents…
For this quick and easy card I use The Cutting Cafe’s I Heart U Word Shaped Card and the Feb. 14 Printable Stamp Set for the inside tag shaped sentiment. Last but not least I made a card for my aunt whose birthday is on Valentine’s Day…

This is actually the second version of this card. I made one for the design team project I mentioned above. It is again using the Valentine Window Card Tops file that I used above for the xoxo card. This is just another version of the tops included in the file.
Well, I hope you all will have a glorious Valentine’s Day. Thank you so much for stopping by and here are a couple of my videos that showcase three of the cards…
It is time for another design team project from The Cutting Cafe! I needed a little gift for my god daughter’s first Valentine’s Day. So I made a flower headband and packaged it in the Handmade Embellishment Box from The Cutting Cafe, which happened to be one of our project file choices this week.
I used black cardstock for the box and a pink patterned paper for the back or hanger part. I used old product packaging for the window and added embellishments. The bow is from the Bow Tie and Ribbon Set file, also from The Cutting Cafe.
The back is patterned as the paper was double-sided which gives a nice finish. I love the hanger cut out as if you are making things for a store or a craft fair, you can package little items in this box. Below is the headband.
Handmade Flower Headband
I used gorgeous pink and black lace from Elegant Embellishments on Zibbet, and a handmade flower that my friend Tmika aka Scrapdaworld on YouTube had on a package she gave me. I added some little pearls around the center and put the flower on a stretch ribbon to make the headband.
I love the way it turned out. Please head over to The Cutting Cafe Blog to see all of the design team projects for this week. Other files we could use were the Paper Beads file with the Jewelry Holder file. Also, when you visit, leave a comment. You will be entered in a drawing next week to win three free files of your choice! Before you go, thank you for stopping by and here is my video…
This week at The Cutting Cafe, we were all given just one file to work with. The great news is that this one file is very versatile and has many versions to choose from. The Valentine Window Card Tops Template has many variations of heart shape cutouts and words. I used one of the may heart versions for a quick and easy birthday card for my aunt. Here are some other views…

I used K & Co patterned paper on the cover and Nikki Silvas paper on the inside. I cut the topper of the card file out of American Craft silver metallic paper and used sentiments from other cutting cafe files. I like the way it turned out.
There will be many great projects posted Wednesday on The Cutting Cafe Blog using these great files. Head over and take a look. Make sure you leave a comment and you might just win three free files in the weekly drawing! Thank you for stopping by! Here is my video…
