Wine Bottle Thank You Card and Gift Tags

Wine Bottle Thank You Card and Gift Tags

My husband’s organization was having an end of year celebration for their current Board of Directors.  The event had a wine tasting and the board gifts were insulated wine bags.  So he asked if I could make a thank you card for the outgoing Board Chair shaped like a wine bottle, and tags to put on each gift.  I was able to do what he asked with the help of  The Cutting Cafe!  This week for my design team post, I used the Wine bottle Shaped Card.

I enlarged it for the card and put two of them together to make it a tri-fold card to allow enough room for all the board members to sign it.

Wine Bottle Thank You Card Opened

On the label, I used the organization logo.  I also used a sentiment from the card on the neck of the bottle and cork paper for the cork.

I used the same file to make small tags that he used to hang from the gifts given to them.

My hubby wanted to give the outgoing chair something other than just a plain card.  He asked if I could make a 3D wine bottle and he could add a note on the back label.  I found this file and made this bottle which is actually a box, but I glued it shut and put glitter tape over the opening which is where the label starts.  This file was not from The Cutting Cafe but I think it went well with my Cutting Cafe projects.

Of course Tmika came bearing gifts.  She made some awesome handmade embellishments and brought me animal print papers to craft with since I love animal prints!  But she also made and brought me what became our theme of the weekend…a shabby chic box and it is lovely…

Minnie Mouse Themed First Birthday Party

22 Mar

My god daughter has turned one year old!  It is hard to believe it.  That time flew by!  I looked at many blogs and websites to research Minnie Mouse parties and came up with a multitude I liked.  I was able to find a cake that both her mom and I liked, as well as free downloads that others openly shared.  As a result, we celebrated last night with family, decked out with Minnie!

I first started with an invitation.  I used a free printable and SVG file from Sherry K. Designs (see the file) and cut the head and bow out.  I layered it on top of a black card base, pink paper, and fuschia polkadot paper.  The personalized label came from The Cutting Cafe and is called the Baby Girl First Birthday Colored Tags/Toppers.  The inside invite page is from Catch My Party and was also a free set.

Fun With Blocks Countdown Calendar – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

19 Feb
Countdown Calendar

Countdown Calendar

This week at The Cutting Cafe, we had a fun file to spark our creative juices.  The Fun With Blocks file is so versatile and come with so many different options and variations!  The possibilities are just endless!  Make sure you check out all the design team projects on the blog on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday.  Be sure to leave a comment as you just might win three free files in next week’s drawing!

I chose to make a countdown calendar with the file.  The blocks are numbered on each side.  You can countdown to anything, a birthday, vacation, anniversary, etc.  All you do is move the blocks to show the numbers you need and go down a number each day.  I made it in a spring color since I am REALLY wanting spring to be here now.    Of course it is blinged out with mesh bling trim and glitter letters.  The sentiment says everything you can imaging is real.   I thought that would give me motivation for the countdown…whatever the countdown will be!  Here are a couple other views…

Handmade Embellishment Box with Flower Headband – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Handmade Embellishment Box and Flower Headband

It is time for another design team project from The Cutting Cafe!  I needed a little gift for my god daughter’s first Valentine’s Day.  So I made a flower headband and packaged it in the Handmade Embellishment Box from The Cutting Cafe, which happened to be one of our project file choices this week.

Handmade Embellishment Box and Flower Headband - Close Up     Handmade Embellishment Box and Flower Headband - Top Detail

I used black cardstock for the box and a pink patterned paper for the back or hanger part.  I used old product packaging for the window and added embellishments.  The bow is from the Bow Tie and Ribbon Set file, also from The Cutting Cafe.

Handmade Embellishment Box and Flower Headband - Back

The back is patterned as the paper was double-sided which gives a nice finish.  I love the hanger cut out as if you are making things for a store or a craft fair, you can package little items in this box.  Below is the headband.

I used gorgeous pink and black lace from Elegant Embellishments on Zibbet, and a handmade flower that my friend Tmika aka Scrapdaworld on YouTube had on a package she gave me.  I added some little pearls around the center and put the flower on a stretch ribbon to make the headband.

I love the way it turned out.  Please head over to The Cutting Cafe Blog to see all of the design team projects for this week.  Other files we could use were the Paper Beads file with the Jewelry Holder file.  Also, when you visit, leave a comment.  You will be entered in a drawing next week to win three free files of your choice!  Before you go, thank you for stopping by and here is my video…

Walking in the Winter Wonderland YouTube Hop

Christmas Noel Charger Plate

Christmas Noel Charger Plate

Today I am participating in the Walking in the Winter Wonderland You Tube hop, which is hosted by Tmika aka Scrapdaworld on YT!  For this project, I decided to something a little different so I altered a charger plate.  I used a wooden noel word and covered it in paper and added some glitter Snowtex on the word to give it a little dimension.

I covered the center with a  glitter paper and added a double row of silver pearls and a single row on the outside perimeter.  From there I just added flowers,  baubles, and glittered chipboard snowflakes.

Pizza Box Card
Pizza Box Card

This week we used the new Pizza Box Template file for our projects for The Cutting Cafe and it is so cute!  It can be cut out plain or with a window and it comes with multiple inserts to divide the box.  The file makes a great small gift box or you can do something different like I did…

Happy Birthday Pop Up

I added a happy birthday pop up to the inside and there you have it…a birthday card.  I have been into doing non-traditional cards lately so this one fits right in!

1st Grade Leaf Scrapbook Project

4 Nov

One of the children that has my heart had a project for his 1st grade class.  He had to make a leaf scrapbook to put many different leaves in and label them.  He needed to find leaves and do the writing.  The scrapbook itself could be decorated in any way and they encouraged family involvement so his mom ask me to help since she is not crafty with paper.

I did some simple pages to allow him space to put the leaves on it and label them.  I also gave him some acrylic leaves to use to add accents to the pages.  I just thought I would share the pages.  Most were two page spreads but I am only showing one of most of them here.  Thanks for stopping by!

I learned how to weld letters and make a shadow on my Silhouette Cameo for this project.
