New YouTube Series – Man Card Mondays Episode #1

6 Feb

I have started a new series on my Sewgoodall YouTube channel in response to a question I asked on a recent subscriber giveaway.  What would you like to see me create?  The overwhelming answer was masculine cards.  So, I started a series to give tips and inspiration to others who may struggle to make them.

Man Card Mondays #1

Masculine Valentines’s Day Card

The first episode debuted today and featured a Valentine’s Day card.  I used a few techniques such as embossing on cardstock and acetate, off setting the heart, and adding metal pieces, all things that work for masculine cards.

Mailbox Treat Box

Hello everyone!  This week at The Cutting Cafe, the design team is all about Valentine’s Day.  Since we all have men in our lives, I decided to make my project with the men in mind.

I used the Mailbox Template and Cutting File Set.  There are two mailbox versions.  I used the second one and used non-traditional colors to give it a more masculine feel, as well as some brads that look like screw heads.

I used the patterned paper on the sides also.

I used some of the printable sentiments that come with the set on the back…

Clean and Simple Card

Clean and Simple Card

Happy New Year!  Welcome to my first post of 2017.  This post marks my fourth anniversary as a design team member for The Cutting Cafe!  Check out my very first post for the team here.  I still have that project proudly displayed in my craft room!  I have loved bringing you projects for the shop and hope to continue to bring you inspiration for a while to come!

With that being said, for our first project of 2017, we were tasked with doing a clean and simple card using the Everyday Greetings Printable Stamp Set 1 or the Everyday Greetings Printable Stamp Set 2.  I used the first set and used two sentiments from the 1a set.

Clean and Simple Card Inside

I used additional Spellbinders shapes on the inside and matted a second sentiment from the file.

Altered Talenti Gelato Jar

Altered Talenti Gelato Jar

For our The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project we were tasked to use an item that we would throw away, like a jar or bottle, and make a Christmas project out of it.  Well I used a jar and came up with this pretty!

I used three files from the cafe, the Christmas Bell Shaped Shaker Card for the bells on the front and the Christmas Colored Basic Shapes for the sentiment…

Scrapdaworld’s Christmas/Winter Tag Swap – My Entry

Tag for Scrapdaworld Christmas/Winter Theme Tag Swap

Peace Ornament Tag

My friend Tmika who is Scrapdaworld on YouTube always hosts fun swaps.  This time it was a Christmas/Winter shaped tag swap.  I had a different tag in mind but I had technical difficulties with it lol.  My Cricut Expression was just not cooperating!

So, I came up with this tag and I like it.  I glittered the tag in stages and it worked well.  I really like the white and gold.

I made a box envelope to package them…

Christmas Gable Box – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Christmas Gable Box

Christmas Gable Box

Hey all!  Christmas is just about a month and a half away!  Where did 2016 go?  It was just summer!!!  Well it is time to get started making those little gifts for family, friends, co-workers, etc.!  The Cutting Cafe has the perfect new file to help you out with treat giving.

The Gable Box file come with a lot of variety so that you can customize your box for the occasion.  There are windows that come in different shapes, some have words in the window.  You can choose straight edge or scalloped edge. There are toppers you can add.

I made the plain box in white and used a black/gold/white paper for the topper pieces, then added a sentiment from the paper stack, and finally added a HUGE gold poinsettia clip that is just over the top!  The recipient can take the clip off and use it for decor or add to a package of their own.

Here is a view of it without the poinsettia…

Christmas Gable Box No Poinsettia

Here is the box without the Poinsettia.

I see a lot of these in my future as the larger size can hold little gifts and the mini ones can be used for little candy gifts or favors.  Here is one more view with the huge flower…

Encouraging Hope Card – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

Hope Card

Hope Card

Today for The Cutting Cafe, the design team worked on things for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I know a couple people, including a former co-worker, Molly, and my cousin Kim who have both just beat breast cancer and I am very happy for both of them!  It takes a lot of prayer and support for a person to make it through and these two are living proof that survival does happen and that God has the last word!

For my project, I used the Hope Shaped Word Card and the Breast Cancer Hershey Kiss Box Set.

I used the kiss bottoms as sentiments on the card and added glittered scallops and half back pearls.  On the back, I added a reminder…

Fall Themed Milk Cartons – The Cutting Cafe Design Team Project

7 Oct

Hello there!  It has been a month since I posted anything!  I am sorry for the wait!  But today I have two cute milk cartons I made for The Cutting Cafe‘s Design Team!  These will house goodies for my god children. I used the Halloween and Fall Milk Carton cutting file.  The file comes with several cut outs.  I used the leaf and the pumpkin and added acetate to the window cutout.

My god son is nine and absolutely hates glitter so I still had to bling his up, just with acrylic pieces…

My god daughter is 3 1/2 and loves glitter!  So for hers, I used glitter paper and some glittered embellishments…
